Born into the sign of Cancer on the 16th of July 1983, Mohamed Abouzikry is mostly known as MAZ, which stems from a harmonic abbreviation of his initials. Since his early childhood years colored with drawings, playing with figures and tale-making, he has had all the makings of a true artistic personality.

By the age of 16 he surrendered himself to his passion for music, rock in particular; passion that demanded its sacrifices eventually making MAZ leave school and join a heavy metal band under the name STEEL GUM. Unfortunately his early musical infatuation was not exactly a rise to stardom.

By the age of 20 arts and crafts were omnipresent in MAZ’s life: poetry, painting and music were the essentials of his day. It wasn't until he was 21, when he got enrolled into a course of photography, that he found his lifelong passion for the visual image.

After several years of growing as an artist, MAZ has taken a special interest in portrait and fashion photography.
